As we are soon approaching our Eid Lunch and the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), we would like to share an important update regarding the nomination and election process. To ensure good governance and transparency, we are reinstating the proper and formal process for conducting the AGM and electing the new committee, in line with best practices for community organizations.
Nominations before the AGM are important to ensure a fair, transparent, and well-organized election of the President, Secretary, and other office bearers. They allow members to propose eligible candidates in advance, confirm that nominees are willing to serve, and give members time to review candidates before voting. This helps the AGM run smoothly and ensures proper governance and accurate record-keeping.
Nomination Timeline:
- Nominations open: 8 March
- Nominations close: 22 March
- Nominees announced: 23 March
- AGM and Appointment : 29 March
Instructions – How to Nominate
- Download the attached nomination form -> SLMASA Nomination Form
- Select the position you wish to nominate for from the listed posts.
- Enter the details of the Nominee, Proposer and Seconder.
P.S. If you are nominating yourself, please enter your details as the nominee as well as the proposer. - The Proposer should discuss with the nominee and obtain the nominee’s signature confirming acceptance.
