The Blooming Muslimah event, hosted by the Amanah Institute at Al Khalil Mosque on Sunday, the 15th of June, was an informative and helpful session where we learned about puberty, menstruation, and ghusl, all from both an Islamic and medical point of view.
The day was filled with kindness, learning, and joy! We enjoyed lunch together, received thoughtful gifts, played a fun and interactive game, and had the chance to ask any questions we had in a safe and welcoming space. It was also lovely to meet a few girls from our own community who attended the event, making the experience feel even more special and connected.
The event helped girls understand that getting your period isn’t something to fear – instead, it’s a gift and a mercy from Allah. We left the event feeling more informed, confident, and ready, with stronger faith and better understanding. Most of all, we felt happy to be learning, growing, and blossoming together on this journey into womanhood. I would like to sincerely thank sister Nazha Nasmi for generously volunteering her time and sharing her knowledge to make this event so informative and helpful to all the girls.
