Hazelwood Park has witnessed many farewells for our SLMASA community. Moments where hearts gather beneath the open sky, hands are held, duas are whispered, and loved ones are sent forth with blessings.
On the evening of the 9th of May, we gathered once again, this time to send off Mr & Mrs Ifaham Nizam and Mr & Mrs Shamil Jamion as they prepare to answer the most sacred of calls; the call to perform Hajj.
Both families, with generous hearts, wished to turn their departure into a community moment. Families arrived, children played on the park, and familiar faces greeted one another with warm salams. Everyone brought food to share, and the spread was plentiful as it always is when our community comes together. The evening was pleasant, the conversations warm, and the duas heartfelt.
These little gatherings mean more than we sometimes realise. Living here in South Australia, these moments of togetherness are the threads that hold us close which is a reminder that we are one community, one ummah, showing up for each other in big moments and small ones alike.

To Mr & Mrs Ifaham Nizam and Mr & Mrs Shamil Jamion, may Allah accept your Hajj, ease your journey, and return you to us safe and blessed. As Rasulullah ﷺ said: “The reward for Hajj Mabrur is nothing but Jannah.” (Bukhari & Muslim)
We await your return with eager hearts and open arms.
Taqabbal Allahu minna wa minkum — May Allah accept from us and from you.
